ACTIVITIES
Program without Limits
Every summer at Camp Winadu is filled with activities, special events, and traditions that make our summers so special. From soccer tournaments and basketball leagues to watersports, outdoor adventure, arts and crafts, and hobbies, there's always something happening, and as a staff member, you'll be right in the middle of it, coaching, teaching, and cheering campers on.
Beyond the daily schedule, our special events and traditions are a big part of every summer. Color War, Songfest, College Days, Campership, Carnival, Zork Day, and our special sports days bring the whole camp together, creating memories that last long after the summer ends.
With so much to experience, no two days are the same. We can't wait for you to join us for the summer of a lifetime.

WINADU SPIRIT
Meet the Winadu Wolf
In Summer 2026, we celebrated 100 summers of Camp Winadu and to mark this occasion we introduced our new mascot - Wilson the Wolf!
Special Events

Campership
Friday nights are for Campership. Everyone gathers for a traditional, all-camp event complete with live music, singing, dancing, laughing, and camaraderie. We review the past week’s events, hear about exciting activities to come, and give out special recognition to campers who have exemplified the true meaning of Campership – caring about others.

Zork Day
Every summer, at the end of parents’ visiting weekend, our younger campers participate in a big shaving cream fight known as “Zork Day.” It’s the perfect way to get back into the swing of camp.

Color War
Campers anxiously await the start of Color War every summer. This five-day event gives the boys an opportunity to shine both on and off the athletic fields. Color War includes amazing traditions such as the apache relay, rope burn, spelling bee and so much more. The bonding and brotherhood which occurs between younger campers and older campers is the core purpose of Color War. The cheering and singing during Color War can be heard throughout campus. Nobody on camp knows when Color War will start until “the break.”

Songfest
Every division writes two songs, an alma mater and a group song in preparation for this special tradition. Groups then perform their original songs for the entire camp. Songfest creates an enormous pride within our campers and gives the boys songs to sing all year long.

July 4th Celebration
We celebrate our nation’s birthday in true Winadu style complete with special events throughout the day, traditional food, fireworks, and fun competitions.

College Days
Each camper and staff member receives an "acceptance letter" from a college during breakfast, with participants divided into four colleges. The entire day is dedicated to competition, featuring games like kickball, relay races, and four-way soccer. The winning college gets to fly its flag on main campus. Senior campers of the winning team ring the dining hall bell, securing their colleges return to college day as defending champion the following summer.

Carnival
One of everyone’s favorite days of the summer is Carnival. Winadu’s fun, old school Carnival features snow cones, popcorn, fried dough, plus traditional games like “Dunk the Counselor”.

Birthdays
Camper birthdays are extra special at Winadu. The day begins with a special phone call home, followed by an all-camp celebration and a personalized cake prepared by the chef.
